Adopt a Pet The Orange County Animal Shelter lists the current dogs (and sometimes cats) for adoption on www.petfinder.com. Some things to think about before you adopt an animal: ********************************************************************** Can You Afford It? Be aware there are some basic expenditures of pet ownership. Your pet will need some vet care as well as pet food and pet care supplies. If you travel, also consider boarding, pet sitting, or transportation costs. Do You Have the Time?Make sure you can give your pet the daily love and attention it craves. Can You Commit to the "Ups and Downs" of Pet Ownership? Just as your pet can give you that unconditional love on occasion it can give you accidents on the carpet and gnawed on shoes. Can you be forgiving and understanding? Your local public library is a great resource for books on dogs and cats. You can read all about training, grooming needs, etc. and what may be best type of dog for you and your family before you adopt. They also have books on specific breeds of dogs. The internet is also a wonderful resource tool for getting information on various issues concerning dogs and cats. We have cats for adoption seven days a week at four area PetSmart stores: in Fredericksburg at Central Park, in Massaponax at the Cosner's Corner Shopping Center, in Culpeper at Culpeper Colonnade, in Stafford on Rt. 17 at the Stafford Marketplace . We also have cats at the PetSmart in Manassas at the Bull Run Shopping Center. |
